I'm really sick and tired of having to ask for my parents' permission for every little thing that I do. What, just because I need them, or their money to be precise, for all these activities that I'm going to take part in doesn't mean they can decide what I can or cannot do. I really don't understand. Other parents can't wait to enrol their kids in summer holiday camps so they can learn something out of it. My parents? they can't wait to find excuses not to let me go. Even if it's free or a compulsory activity organised by my school. Unless I tell them I need to go because it'll be graded. Isn't that sad?

I mean, it's a good thing that I'm interested in camp activity, or any learning activity that's harmless of course. Or would they rather I stay at home, doing nothing?

It's pathetic but true that I've never had a camping experience before. And I seriously wonder when I can have that experience if not now. I'm going to be 21. Do I have to wait till I have kids and it's too late before they give permission? Or after I'm old enough not to have to ask for it?

Well, I'm not going to do that. I'm not going to ask for their blessings. If it's necessary, I'm not going to tell them about it either. They ask for it.

We're only human

and human beings are never satisfied. No matter what they already have, they will still want more. Even if they don't need it, they just want it. There is no end.

Maybe not all human beings are like that. Maybe there are those who know how to count their blessings. Maybe there are those who are contented with their lives and desire nothing else. But how many of them really exist in this world? One in a thousand?

I know I'm not one of those. I am grateful for what I have now. But I wish I have things that I don't. I wish I have the means to go to UK to study. I wish I can travel around the world. I wish I have what it needs to do what I like. I wish there aren't so many things to worry about. I wish the world is not so terrifying to live in. And I wish for many more..
